Basketball Recap: Pinecrest Prep Skates Past Westland Hialeah with Ease

Pinecrest Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 56.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They blew past the Westland Hialeah Wildcats 74-34. The Crocs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Westland Hialeah lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sergio Welsh, who posted six points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Angelo Puentes, who scored five points.

Pinecrest Prep now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Westland Hialeah, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinecrest Prep will square off against Braddock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westland Hialeah, they will take on St. Brendan at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Sabres have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
