Baseball Recap: Jellico Comes Up Short

Jellico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-1 to the Oliver Springs Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 9-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Jellico saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Dople, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Wyatt Baird also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Jellico's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Oliver Springs, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Jellico and Oliver Springs will both be playing Campbell County the next time they take the field. The Bobcats will host the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Blue Devils will host them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
