Basketball Game Preview: Bastrop Bears vs. Canyon Lake

The Bastrop Bears and Canyon Lake will face off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Bastrop saw some tournament action on Friday. They were dealt a 106-68 defeat at the hands of Hargrave. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 905th, while the Falcons are ranked 112th).

Meanwhile, Canyon Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by Liberty Hill 86-42.

This is the second loss in a row for Bastrop and nudges their season record down to 8-10. As for Canyon Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Bastrop lost to Canyon Lake on the road by a decisive 56-39 margin when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can Bastrop avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
