Baseball Recap: Stroudsburg's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Stroudsburg dropped their record down to 13-6 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell 7-4 to the Palmerton Blue Bombers. The Mountaineers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Bombers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Alex Pacitti made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Another player making a difference was Anthony Knight, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

As for Palmerton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games.

On Palmerton's side, their win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Luke Matkso, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Stroudsburg will challenge Delaware Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Palmerton, they will square off against Northern Lehigh at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Bombers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
