Basketball Recap: East Lake Eagles vs. Steinbrenner Warriors
East Lake lost against Steinbrenner back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The East Lake Eagles took a blow against the Steinbrenner Warriors, falling 92-15. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 454th, while the Warriors are ranked 120th).
Kierra Pitts was East Lake's leading scorer, having posted five points. Amanda Egipciaco held things down on the boards with six rebounds.
Steinbrenner's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Naomi Parker led the charge by going 10 for 17 on her way to 23 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Breanna Hartley, who went 7 of 8 to rack up 14 points along with seven steals and five boards.
