League recap: North Tahoe's Spencer delivers best pitching performance from past week

IA/III Mount Rose league recap: 4/3/13

North Tahoe's Colin Spencer was the best pitcher in IA/III Mount Rose this week. He picked up one win and 13 strikeouts.

Jared Longland was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .875 average, one home run and five RBIs. Sparks compiled a record of 1-2 in that time.

Even after stealing 15 bases to lead the league over the past week, the Lakers are still looking up at Incline, which ranks No. 1 in steals, with 46 on the year.

North Tahoe's pitchers have displayed incredible control over the past week and all season, giving up just five walks over the past seven days and nine on the year, both No. 1 in the league.

There were 12 hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. They were led by Jared Longland, who hit .875 this week (7-for-8).



The Railroaders' Casey Carter struck out nine Spring Creek hitters en route to a 4-3 victory on March 30. Over seven innings of work, he gave up five hits and three runs.

Diana Dominic drove in five runners as Portola defeated South Tahoe 11-10 on Tuesday. He went 2-for-5 and scored two runs.
