Volleyball Recap: Circle Falls Despite Big Games from Cate Rogers and Brianna Paul

Circle was the 2-0 winner over Holton when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Thunderbirds fell 2-0 to the Wildcats on Saturday. The Thunderbirds' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Circle had strong showings from Brianna Paul, who had 20 digs and one assist, and Cate Rogers, who had 15 assists and four digs. Rogers has been hot, having posted 15 or more assists the last five times she's played.

Circle's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Holton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Circle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Riley County on the 27th. As for Holton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Wamego on the 27th.
