Softball Recap: West Orange-Stark Mustangs vs. Beaumont United Timberwolves
While West Orange-Stark didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Beaumont United Timberwolves by a score of 9-4 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-4 back in January.
Kyla Blagburn made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
