Baseball Recap: Questa Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Questa dropped their record down to 5-9 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They lost 17-2 to the McCurdy Bobcats. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Ricardo Leon Jr. made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

As for McCurdy, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won eight matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

On McCurdy's side, Carlos Garcia made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Those 11 strikeouts gave Garcia a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of McCurdy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Ethan Bolton was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Jeremaya Roybal, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McCurdy beat Questa by a score of 15-1 later that day.
