Football Recap: Sheridan Piles Up the Points Against Clinton Prairie

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sheridan had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-12 win over the Clinton Prairie Gophers. The result was nothing new for the Blackhawks, who have now won four matchups by 30 points or more so far this season.

Sheridan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brody Heck and Chance Spencer. Heck is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Hayden Alexander was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).

The victory made it two in a row for Sheridan and bumps their season record up to 8-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 19 points in those games. As for Clinton Prairie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Sheridan will challenge Cloverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clinton Prairie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
