Hubbertville had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Marion County Red Raiders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-1 last Tuesday.

Cruz Kizzire spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cole Brand, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Blaize Wakefield was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Hubbertville pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Marion County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Hubbertville will face off against Hackleburg at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Marion County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
