Baseball Game Preview: Bellevue Christian Vikings vs. Jefferson Raiders

The Bellevue Christian Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the Jefferson Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bellevue Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Jefferson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Bellevue Christian is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Klahowya, who was ranked fifth at the time (Bellevue Christian was ranked 24th). Bellevue Christian fell just short of Klahowya by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The loss was the Vikings' first of the season.

Luke Evenson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Rockey, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Jefferson's offense. They lost 10-0 to Decatur on Monday. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bellevue Christian fell to 6-1. As for Jefferson, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Jefferson's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Bellevue Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game.
