Recap: Cary Imps vs. Green Hope Falcons
The Cary Imps scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with an 80-69 victory over Green Hope. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Cary as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Stone Holcombe was his usual excellent self, scoring 34 points. Brandon Nixon was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Defeat or not, Green Hope got some senior leadership from Justin Jackson and Grayson Cuffe. Jackson scored 17 points along with two steals, while Cuffe. scored 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Joof, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Even though they lost, Green Hope smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Cary's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Green Hope, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Middle Creek the next time they take the court. Cary will head out to face Middle Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Green Hope will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
