Football Recap: Liberty Falls Short Against Ranked Johnston

Liberty faced Johnston in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Lightning fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 27-24. The loss was the Lightning's first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Liberty fell to 3-1. As for Johnston, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will square off against Iowa City West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lightning will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matches. As for Johnston, they will challenge Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lynx's defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Dragons' offense will have their work cut out for them.
