Basketball Recap: Midland Legacy Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Midland Legacy had won nine straight home games dating back to last season and Diego Rodriguez did his part to make it ten on Monday. The Midland Legacy Rebels greeted the New Year with with a 58-43 victory over the Abilene Eagles thanks in part to Rodriguez, who went 8 of 20 on his way to 29 points and three steals. His evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of John Webster, who posted seven points and five rebounds. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Midland Legacy has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Abilene, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-9.

Midland Legacy will head out to face off against Midland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Midland Legacy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups. As for Abilene, they will welcome Legacy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
