Aldine has gone 9-1 against Eisenhower recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mustangs will face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Aldine will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
On Saturday, Aldine sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Benjamin Davis.
The team relied heavily on Jesus Hiracheta, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Adrian Brown also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Eisenhower came out on top against Nimitz on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Eagles have posted against the Cougars since March 19, 2024.
Denny Benavides was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Jeremy Ortiz looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Eisenhower: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 6-16 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Isaiah Patel and Jay'Markus Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Patel went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base, while Smith went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Eisenhower is 4-1 when Patel posts two or more runs, but 4-16 otherwise.
Aldine's record is now 17-5-3. As for Eisenhower, their record now sits at 8-17.
Eisenhower's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Aldine hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. It's a different story for Eisenhower, though, as they've only averaged .216. Will they be able to contain Aldine's hitters?
Aldine got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Eisenhower by a conclusive 23-8 score. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
