Preview: Tate Aggies vs. Gulf Breeze Dolphins
Tate has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Gulf Breeze Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Tate was beaten by Pace 41-13. While losing is never fun, Tate can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Pace is ranked 46th).
Meanwhile, Gulf Breeze's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 18-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tohopekaliga.
Despite the loss, Gulf Breeze had strong showings from Battle Alberson, who threw for 368 yards and a touchdown, and Bryson Rouillier, who picked up 167 receiving yards and a touchdown. Rouillier's longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.
Tate's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Gulf Breeze, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday' game: Tate has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 223.7 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Gulf Breeze, though, as they've been averaging only 80.6 per game. How will Gulf Breeze fare against such a dominant running game?
Tate took a serious blow against Gulf Breeze in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 49-21. Can Tate avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
