Baseball Recap: Durant Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Durant won the last time they faced Plant City and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cougars came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 4-1.

Owen Franklin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. Durant is 7-1 when Franklin allows one or fewer earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Caleb Lambert was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brantley Hayward, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double.

Durant's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Plant City, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10.

Looking ahead, Durant will welcome Tampa Bay Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Plant City, they will take on Prestonsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
