Softball Game Preview: Washburn Pirates vs. Pigeon Forge Tigers

Washburn is on an eight-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Pigeon Forge a six-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Washburn Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pigeon Forge Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Washburn lost 15-2 to Hancock County two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Pigeon Forge fell victim to Eagleton College & Career Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Royals, falling 15-0.

Pigeon Forge's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Washburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Washburn's way against Pigeon Forge in their previous matchup back in April of 2021, as Washburn made off with a 15-1 win. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
