Football Recap: Foothill Takes a Loss

The Foothill Knights were just a hair shy of victory on Monday and fell 7-6 to the Brea Olinda Wildcats. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Knights came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Wildcats are ranked 503rd).

Foothill didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Maleah Paige and Julienn Chaverst. Paige has been hot, having also posted at least one defended passe the last seven times she's played.

Foothill's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-8. As for Brea Olinda, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-4.

Coincidentally, Foothill and Brea Olinda will both be playing Sunny Hills the next time they take the field. The Knights will host the Lancers at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Wildcats will host them at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
