Baseball Game Preview: Fairview Apaches vs. Hicksville Aces

Fairview has gone a perfect 3-0 against Hicksville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Apaches will venture away from home to face off against the Aces at 5:00 p.m. Fairview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Fairview came up short against Wayne Trace and fell 6-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Apaches in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost four in a row.

Fairview got a good showing from Cash King, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. King has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Hicksville suffered their biggest loss since May 11, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Tinora, falling 20-6.

Parker Bassett was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Hicksville is 3-1 when Bassett posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

Hicksville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Fairview, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.

Everything went Fairview's way against Hicksville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Fairview made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Apaches since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
