Volleyball Recap: Garfield Heights Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brecksville-Broadview Heights, Garfield Heights was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the St. Martin de Porres Lions by a score of 3-1.

Garfield Heights had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-17, 25-12, 25-12.

Tai'Mere Mixson paced Garfield Heights' offense, picking up 15 kills. Mixson got some help from Taaran Johnson and his 21 assists. Robert Norman controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

The win got Garfield Heights back to even at 7-7. As for St. Martin de Porres, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.

Garfield Heights has already played their next matchup (against Shaker Heights), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for St. Martin de Porres, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against East Tech on the 26th.
