Recap: Johnson County Sports Association Lions vs. Harvest Christian Academy Saints
The Johnson County Sports Association Lions and the Harvest Christian Academy Saints squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Johnson County Sports Association Lions had to settle for second. Johnson County Sports Association was beaten by Harvest Christian Academy 70-20. Johnson County Sports Association was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-8.
Despite the loss, Johnson County Sports Association saw an underclassman step up: Gael Montes de Oca rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown. Montes de Oca was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards.
Colin Rooney was his usual excellent self, throwing for 430 yards and six touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes, and also rushing for 108 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Ellison, who gained 134 total yards and three touchdowns.
Johnson County Sports Association's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Harvest Christian Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.
Johnson County Sports Association does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Harvest Christian Academy will square off against East Texas Homeschool Sports at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Texas Homeschool Sports has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 388 points over their last seven matchups.
