Softball Game Preview: North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers vs. Delphi Community Oracles

The North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers will square off against the Delphi Community Oracles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Montgomery has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

North Montgomery is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Southmont, falling 12-4.

Jayla Birge was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Paisley Gillan, who earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Delphi Community got the win against Seeger on Monday by a conclusive 9-2. The Oracles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Abie Pearson was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Sami Leopard was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Delphi Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seeger only posted an OBP of .333.

Delphi Community now has a winning record of 13-12. As for North Montgomery, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-17.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. North Montgomery has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Delphi Community struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
