Softball Recap: Acalanes Dons vs. College Park Falcons
Acalanes extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 9-7 in the process. They came up short against the College Park Falcons, falling 13-3. That's two games in a row now that the Dons have lost by exactly ten runs.
June Natal made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
As for College Park, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On College Park's side, Kayla Clements spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.
At the plate, College Park got a massive performance out of Avery Rodriguez, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave Rodriguez a new career-high. Maya Davis also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
