Volleyball Recap: Dracut's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Dracut's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Central Catholic Raiders, sneaking past 3-2. For the Middies, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Dracut had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 22-25, 28-26, 25-20, 15-9.

Among those leading the charge was Jeremy Tong, who had 15 digs and one assist. Those 15 digs gave him a new career-high.

Dracut was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Dracut's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8. As for Central Catholic, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Coincidentally, Dracut and Central Catholic will both be playing Essex Tech the next time they take the court. The Middies will host the Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Raiders will host them at 5:00 p.m. on the 6th.
