Sunset and Westview are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Apollos will welcome the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Sunset is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Mountainside on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Apollos were dealt a 56-20 loss at the hands of the Mavericks. The game marked the Apollos' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Westview took a blow against Jesuit on Friday, falling 35-7. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon football rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Crusaders are ranked eighth).

Sunset now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Westview, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.

Sunset couldn't quite get it done against Westview when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 35-28. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Wildcats' Heath Thompson, who rushed for 154 yards and four scores while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Now that the Apollos know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
