Baseball Recap: Gregory-Portland Comes Up Short

Gregory-Portland fell victim to Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost seven in a row.

Gregory-Portland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Garcia, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Gregory-Portland's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 19-2-1.

Looking ahead, Gregory-Portland will be playing in front of their home fans against Palmview at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, they will head out on the road to square off against King at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
