Basketball Game Preview: Crescent Loggers vs. Ocosta Wildcats

The Crescent Loggers will take on the Ocosta Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Crescent is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They were dealt a 52-17 loss at the hands of Concrete.

Crescent's defeat came about despite a quality game from Naomii Sprague, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals. Sprague is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 20 games she's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Ocosta had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 54-18 loss at the hands of Pe Ell. The Wildcats were down 37-15 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Crescent will have to contain Anna Davis as she made an impact in Ocosta's last game. She posted seven points and ten boards.

Even though they lost, Ocosta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in ten consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Crescent's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Ocosta, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Crescent was able to grind out a solid win over Ocosta in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 44-33. Will Crescent repeat their success, or does Ocosta have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
