Volleyball Recap: North Marion Huskies vs. Grafton Bearcats
North Marion had to endure an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They won by a set and slipped past the Grafton Bearcats 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Huskies also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.
The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was North Marion who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 20-25, 27-25.
Liya Clemm and Rory Stevens certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Clemm had 20 digs, while Stevens had six digs. Clemm is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had five or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
North Marion's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Grafton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Robert C. Byrd the next time they take the court. North Marion will host Robert C. Byrd at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Grafton will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
