Baseball Recap: Somerset Berkley Regional's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

If Somerset Berkley Regional was riding high fresh off their 17-5 takedown of Case last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders fell just short of the Durfee Hilltoppers by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hilltoppers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Somerset Berkley Regional saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Sherman Jr., who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Somerset Berkley Regional fell to 2-1. As for Durfee, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somerset Berkley Regional will challenge Dartmouth at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Durfee, they will square off against Taunton at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Hilltoppers surely won't give up without a fight.
