Volleyball Game Preview: Chandler Wolves vs. Basha Bears

Chandler is a perfect 9-0 against Basha since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wolves will host the Bears at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Chandler is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Casteel, who was ranked fifth at the time (Chandler was ranked eighth). The Wolves fell just short of the Colts by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Wolves have struggled against the Colts recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Chandler actually scored more points across those five sets (100-94), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-20, 18-25, 11-25, 25-19, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Chandler had strong showings from Anthony Quintana, who had 11 digs and two assists, and Ethan Dye, who had 21 kills and 14 digs. Dye has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 28 times he's played.

Meanwhile, Basha was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Hamilton.

Chandler's loss dropped their record down to 17-11-1. As for Basha, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-16.

Everything went Chandler's way against Basha when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Chandler made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
