Softball Recap: Austin Takes a Loss

After flying high against Bowie on Wednesday, Austin came back down to earth. The Panthers lost 19-5 to the Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy Warriors on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent loss being a 12-6 defeat back in March.

Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 8-19. As for Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Austin will head out on the road to take on Irvin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rockets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.38 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy, they will host Ysleta at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least ten runs in their last eight contests.
