Basketball Recap: Gainesville Cardinals vs. Osbourn Eagles

The Gainesville Cardinals can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They blew past Osbourn 56-27 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-14.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gainesville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grace Ellingson, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Peyton White, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and five blocks.

Gainesville pushed their record up to 16-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Osbourn, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Gainesville will square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Freedom will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Cardinals are ranked 17th). As for Osbourn, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
