Baseball Recap: Trinity Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Trinity dropped their record down to 6-2 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Exeter Blue Hawks, falling 11-5. If the Pioneers were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Blue Hawks when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Exeter, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games.

For Exeter's part, they got a great performance from Nolan Engler as he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hayden Schimoler, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was John Bakker, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
