Kennebunk is 7-1 against Massabesic since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Rams will look to defend their home field against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
If Kennebunk beats Massabesic with four runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Rams' pitchers stepped up to hand Windham a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.
Theo Adams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Adams was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.
Adams wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Ralls, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Those two hits gave Ralls a new career-high. Another was Bradley Farrell, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Massabesic, who bounced back after a loss on the road on April 10th. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over Marshwood on Tuesday.
Like Kennebunk, Massabesic also got a great game from a two-way player: Parker Soule-Parent. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Soule-Parent was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Henry Marcotte, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Massabesic's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Kennebunk, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Kennebunk beat Massabesic 12-7 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
