Volleyball Recap: Caliche Comes Up Short

Caliche entered their matchup against Prairie on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Buffaloes fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 3-2. The Buffaloes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Caliche wouldn't go down easily and took Prairie into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 25-20, 16-25, 22-25, 25-18, 15-12.

Faye Lueck paced Caliche's offense, picking up ten kills. Lueck got some help from Lily Armstrong and her 12 assists. Alexis Breidenbach controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 9-2. As for Prairie, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.

Caliche didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Sedgwick County on the 7th. As for Prairie, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Otis on the 7th.
