Basketball Recap: Snow Hill Eagles vs. Pocomoke Warriors
Snow Hill won the last time they faced Pocomoke and things went their way on Friday too. The Snow Hill Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-47 victory over the Pocomoke Warriors.
Pocomoke lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Donyae Washington, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 27 boards. Washington is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last 31 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Esham, who went 5 of 10 en route to 16 points and three steals.
Snow Hill has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.2 points per game. As for Pocomoke, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-6.
Snow Hill will head out on the road to challenge Wicomico at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pocomoke, they will host Crisfield at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pocomoke is facing Crisfield at the right time seeing as Crisfield is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
