Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Harrison's Winning Streak

After a string of ten wins, Harrison's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 3-0 to the Zionsville Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Raiders have suffered since October 26, 2024.

While Harrison ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-17, 25-21.

Gia Stokes paced Harrison's offense, picking up 11 kills. Stokes got some help from Jillian Deno and her 20 assists. Finally, Grace Watts kept Harrison's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Zionsville found their leader in sophomore Abby Swan, who had 13 digs and two aces. Swan is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last six games she's played. Maddie Herman also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Harrison's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Zionsville, they pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coincidentally, Harrison and Zionsville will both be playing Mt. Vernon the next time they take the court. The Eagles will host the Marauders at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Raiders will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
