The Prairie Pirates will challenge the Clearwater Valley Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Clearwater Valley will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Prairie extended their winning streak to seven on Tuesday. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over Troy.

Kade Quintal and Chris Schumacher made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Quintal tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Schumacher tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two). At bat, Quintal went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs, while Schumacher went 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, Prairie let Jake Quintal and Carter Shears run wild. Quintal got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four runs and three RBI, while Shears went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Quintal is becoming a predictor of Prairie's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Devon Poxleitner, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Prairie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Clearwater Valley got the win against Garfield-Palouse on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.
Jake Fabbi was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Clearwater Valley's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Prairie, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Prairie has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .548. However, it's not like Clearwater Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .472. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
