Basketball Game Preview: Seminole Warhawks vs. Lakeside Christian Lions

The Seminole Warhawks will venture away from home to square off against the Lakeside Christian Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Seminole is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Last Wednesday, Seminole came up short against St. Petersburg and fell 56-46. While losing is never fun, the Warhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Green Devils are ranked 169th).

Despite the loss, Seminole saw an underclassman step up: freshman Riley Turknett posted 15 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Hallock, who had 14 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Seminole smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Lakeside Christian ended up a good deal behind Gulf Coast HEAT on Thursday and lost 49-33. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Seminole's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Lakeside Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-9.
