Volleyball Recap: Sidney Comes Up Short

Sidney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Platte Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Raiders of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Sidney was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-14.

Kierra Schrader paced Sidney's offense, picking up three kills. Schrader got some help from Ava Witte and her nine assists.

Sidney's loss dropped their record down to 13-17. As for North Platte, their victory bumped their record up to 14-20.

Sidney wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Holdrege on the 18th. As for North Platte, they will head out to face off against Kearney Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
