Baseball Recap: Somerville Comes Up Short

Somerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Round Top-Carmine Cubs, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cubs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 14-9 loss on Monday.

Somerville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Esqueda, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Esqueda is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Somerville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Round Top-Carmine, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Coming up, Somerville will host Iola at 6:30 p.m. on March 18th. As for Round Top-Carmine, they will head out on the road to challenge Milano at 6:30 p.m. on March 18th.
