After losing to Father McGivney Catholic the last time they met, Belleville West decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Maroons came out on top against the Griffins by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Maroons.

Belleville West never let Father McGivney Catholic on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-23.

Aidan Idrees paced Belleville West's offense, picking up nine kills. Idrees got some help from Tyler Lintz and his 23 assists. Hayden Iwinski controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Belleville West's win bumped their record up to 14-16. As for Father McGivney Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-16.

Looking ahead, Belleville West will be playing in front of their home fans against Granite City at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The last six games the Warriors have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Father McGivney Catholic, they will face off against Bunker Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
