Basketball Recap: Salinas Comes Up Short

Salinas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a hard 65-50 fall against the Pacific Grove Breakers. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Breakers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pacific Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Nimri, who went 11 for 16 en route to 29 points and six boards. The game was Nimri's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Valencia, who went 7 of 8 on his way to 17 points.

Salinas' record is now 3-14. As for Pacific Grove, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salinas will host Everett Alvarez at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Salinas is facing Everett Alvarez at the right time seeing as Everett Alvarez is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Pacific Grove, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Monterey at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pacific Grove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.4 points per game this season.
