Baseball Game Preview: Tri-County Cavaliers vs. Frontier Falcons

Tri-County has gone 8-2 against Frontier recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cavaliers will look to defend their home field against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Tri-County fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Seeger on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 12-11.

Tyler Burns and Noah Pratt stepped up to the plate in a big way. Burns went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Pratt got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Burns has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Schneider, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Frontier had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. Everything went their way against the Bison as they made off with a 10-1 victory. Considering the Falcons have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Frontier's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Tri-County, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.
