Softball Recap: Faith Lutheran Falls Short Against Ranked Centennial

On Monday, Faith Lutheran faced Centennial in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Faith Lutheran Crusaders lost 16-6 to the Centennial Bulldogs. The Crusaders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Shay Ghadery was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Mia Walsh was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Faith Lutheran and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Centennial, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Faith Lutheran will head out on the road to take on Shadow Ridge at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Faith Lutheran has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Centennial, they will be playing at home against Bishop Gorman at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Gorman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
