Baseball Recap: Farmington Takes a Loss

Farmington had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 6-17 to make it four. They came up short against the Berkley Bears, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bears this season, with their most recent loss being a 22-10 defeat last Tuesday.

As for Berkley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.

For Berkley's part, Ethan Roth looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Roth posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Willem Allen was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Spencer Bajcz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Coming up, Farmington will welcome West Bloomfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lakers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Berkley, they will face off against Bloomfield Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
