Softball Recap: Emmett Huskies vs. Nampa Bulldogs
Emmett extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 4-13 in the process. They lost 19-10 to the Nampa Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-3 back in March.
Cassidy Ford stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-3 with five RBI and one run. Avery Reynolds was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
As for Nampa, their win bumped their record up to 16-7. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
On Nampa's side, Kaylee Mathson made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and eight unearned) runs off eight hits. Mathson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
