After a string of six wins, Academy for Academic Excellence's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Hesperia Christian Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-18, 25-13.

Brin Bryant paced Academy for Academic Excellence's offense, picking up 15 kills. Bryant got some help from Colbie Tworek and her 17 assists. Bryant was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Hesperia Christian can attribute much of their success to Sadie Arango, who had 12 assists and eight digs.

Academy for Academic Excellence's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Hesperia Christian, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

Academy for Academic Excellence has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Big Bear on the 25th. As for Hesperia Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Academy of Careers & Exploration on the 25th.
